Texture Showreel 2014

You can now view my Texture Showreel online on Vimeo. Just Click the Thumbnail above!

My latest reel showcases some of the work I have done while working at Framestore as a Texture artist since 2010. Now that 3 of the films I have worked on are available to buy on home media I can use the footage to demonstrate my skills.

As always and with every project I am improving artistically and technically, so we will have to wait for the latest projects I have been working on to be released before I can show what I can do now.

Texture Showreel Spring 2013

For the past two and a half years I have been lucky enough to work as Texture Artist at Framestore, working in Film, commercials and animation. Unfortunately, most of my best work is featured in projects that are yet to be presented into the public domain and I can't show it. This includes work on Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, 47 Ronin and Iron man 3.
In the meantime, here is a few small examples of commercials work and a few personal projects. Hopefully I will be able to upload more work soon.

Luntara Album cover 2010

This is the Album cover to Luntara's debut album 'Chpater I: The Arrival', soon to be released.

Mind The Gap Artwork

A few months ago I offered to help out a friend with concept art for his screenplay, for which he was intending to create a portfolio and pitch it to prospective film producers. Here are my three favourite pieces:

This character is known as the ticket inspector, I had great fun designing and drawing him.

This is one of my favourite pieces i've done, showing a tree filled with sealife.

I drew and coloured this mutant spider, and comped it onto the background image.

Robot Pirate Captain Update #3

These are images of the captain with the final texture applied to him. All Texturing was done by me! I am very pleased with how he has turned out, and actually really enjoyed working on him! Images are copyrighted.

Signs in the Crops

This month's concept is another Luntara inlay piece. Influenced by Luntara's song 'Signs' as well as the Mel gibson film of the same name, this piece took me a couple of hours to do. I am pleased with the perspective, as well as the crop texture which i made with noise and grain. It is surprisingly difficult to find birds eye views of untouched crops on the internet!

Robot Pirate Captain Update #2

This is one fraction of the texture map that will be applied to the Pirate Captain from POD 003. The Texture was done by me, while the Modelling and UV Mapping Was done by Caspar Trenchard-Turner.

POD 003 - It's Da Bomb!

This is a Bomb design which will be featured in the POD 003 pilot show. It will be used by robotic space pirates to detonate a space station. I designed, modeled and textured the Bomb, including the happy bomb sticker! :)

Ria and Ryan Textures!

These are some Textures from the upcoming Ria and Ryan episode! They are Texture's of Ryan's Pilot outfit and of the Fokker Tri Plane, as piloted by none other then the Red Baron himself! I made and UV Mapped the plane, and I adjusted David Bates' model of Ryan so that he wears a Pilots outfit.

Texturing a Bullet

These above images are the Texture maps for a character from a friend's film called 'Snap'. Despite its phallic appearance, it is actually a bullet with a female persona. Each of the character had one disembodied hand which was their only useful limb.

Alienweirdo Avatar

Just a bit of fun, I made a new avatar for my Deviantart Blog! Its a characature of me, as a cartoon alien, wearing one of those blue tartan shirts that are awesome.

The Scarecrow's Silent Laughing

To tantalise my concept tastebuds I have done a piece of concept influenced by lyrics by Luntara's song, 'A Glorious Beginning'. The green moon is a symbol of the band's arrival, and is quickly becoming a recurring feature in my artwork... The Scarecrow is atop of a cliff with the waves violently smashing against the rocks. The Piece took a couple of days to do. Its my favourite Piece so far, and hopefully I'll get time to do some more!

Zombie Frog

This is my half of an Art trade i did with a uni classmate whom I chat to frequently on Deviantart.

Back in our first year of college, we worked together in a team of 5 on a storyboard project. The story we came up with involved an old house, some lost teenagers and giant zombie frogs. We came up with these ideas way before i had my obsession with Hellboy, so this isn't influenced by the plague of frogs =P

Heinz Meister takes a Bath

I found a picture of a 1950's style bathroom design while browsing the web, and thought it could used to humorous effect. I photoshoped one of my characters into the bath, and was great fun to do!

He is Heinz Meister, a super villain with the power to control beans.

POD Pirates Update: Harv 3D

This is the Developement of the character 'Harv', who is at this point intended to be used in the pilot show 'Pod 003'.

The above images are 3D models of the Character i made in Maya. The image below is the previously posted concept image of Harv, only with proposed colour. I used Reds and yellows as i felt the Robot had a very Soviet feel to it. This palette isn't final, and his texture may change.

Power Through!

Work has been slow as of late, becuase i have just done two weeks worth of Running at Molinare in Soho, London. Now that they have let me go (due to financial reasons i must stress!), i can concentrate on getting stuff done, like the new Ria and Ryan episode animatic and coloured versions of the Pod Pirates!

Just Keep on Smiling!

Pod Interface Designs

These are some concept ideas for the computer interface on the escape pod from the pilot show of the same name.

This was the first piece i had done, an overtly complicated design although Punchdrunk did like the large eye in the middle.

This is the only piece i had done with the main character in it. The extendable arm was a piece of development from Desmond Walsh's idea.

This idea was developed through the previous ideas and looking at the space available within the 3D model of the Pod to use. Since the Pod will be fairly small and claustrophobic, the computer needed to be of a certain size.

Ria and Ryan Episode 3 News

I am currently participating in the highly anticipated next episode of Ria and Ryan!

Sarah, Dave and I are writing the Script, and storyboarding as we are going along so that we can get onto the 3D stuff as soon as possible! The above image was drawn By Sarah and coloured by me! As always, all Ria and Ryan images are copyrighted!

Robot Space Pirates Phase 2

I'm trying to think why i have no work posted for this past month... and then i remember I've been working quite hard and forgot to post! Its been mostly work for Punchdrunk, including the Music Video SIF and Concept for POD 003. Here are some pencil sketches of Robot Space pirates that i have designed for POD:

The ideas for the characters 'Legs' and 'Clam' were originally green lit, though now sadly they aren't going to be used. 'Harv', Who is going to be used, is the combination of 'Hal' and another Robot Design done by Mr Dave Bates, as requested by Punchdrunk. 'Mart' is going through a design change as well, but his head will remain the same!

I will post final colour versions of the final Robots when they are ready! These images are copyrighted.
